Population density
On 1st January 2011, the population of the German-speaking Community was 75,716. The population density within the district of Eupen ( in the north) is drastically different from that within the district of St Vith ( in the south):

District of Eupen : 45,681 inhabitants

District of St. Vith : 30,098 inhabitants
The population gap between the north and the south is even more striking when the municipality situated in the northern end and that in the southern end are compared:

The most densely populated municipality is Kelmis (600,4 inhabitants/km²);

The most poorly populated municipality is Burg-Reuland (36,5 inhabitants/km²).
With 37,650 men are less represented within the population of the German-speaking Community than women who are in the majority with 38,066.
